Nathan Glassey is the Director of Federal & State Legislative Affairs for the American Retirement Association (ARA), an organization of more than 30,000 members nationwide who provide consulting and administrative services to millions of American workers, savers, and the sponsors of retirement plans. The ARA has two key missions: to educate and inform retirement benefits professionals and to advocate for policies that give every working American the ability to have a comfortable retirement.
Additionally, Nathan is the Executive Director of the National Tax-Deferred Savings Association (NTSA), as of March 2022. The NTSA was formed in 1989 and is nationally recognized for its thought leadership and policy expertise regarding public-sector retirement plans. NTSA represents its membership in Washington, D.C., and state capitals across the country to address issues and design retirement plans that improve employee outcomes.
Glassey graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in Accounting. While attending the university, he began working in the retirement industry and remained with National Benefit Services (NBS) for 19 years. During his time at NBS, he focused on non-ERISA plans with a heavy emphasis on the K-14 market. Nathan finished his years at NBS as the Vice President of Retirement Services, overseeing all non-ERISA plans as well as ERISA plans.
